Building Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
since 2015.

The Competition

Team Bath Drones is an IMechE UAS Challenge team based out of the University of Bath’s Faculty of Engineering and Design.

In the IMechE UAS Challenge, teams design, build, and test a 10 kg UAS for specific autonomous missions such as area search, navigating waypoints, accurately dropping an aid package and returning to base via a defined route.

The Team

Team Bath Drones is comprised of final year MEng Aerospace Engineering and MEng Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students, most of whom have undertaken a drone specific Group Business Design Project in their penultimate year. We welcome involvement from students from any related engineering discipline, in any year, who have an interest in UAS.

Our History

As a team, we've won several awards at the challenge event since entering in 2015:

Post Covid-19, the team have completed several other notable projects. This year we will be entering the competition for the first time since 2019!
